aMERICANS NONSMOKERS' RIGHTS foundation (anrf)
With the goal of creating a tobacco-free generation, the Americans Nonsmokers’ Rights Foundation (ANRF) provides model policy language and hands-on technical assistance to those wishing to adopt a campus policy. ANRF also tracks tobacco and smoke-free campus policies and creates reports to provide knowledge and strategic advice to public health professionals and campus leadership working in this area. ANRF’s list of the 100% smoke-free and tobacco-free campuses is used by the media, policymakers, and the general public and can be found here: http://www.no-smoke.org/goingsmokefree.php?id=519.
Since 2015, Truth Initiative® has awarded funding to 154 historically black colleges and universities, minority serving institutions and community colleges to advocate for, adopt and implement a 100% smoke- or tobacco-free policy. To keep the momentum going, Truth Initiative has launched its new Tobacco-Free College Program, which offers grants of up to $20,000 to community and women’s colleges, and minority-serving institutions to adopt a 100% tobacco-free campus policy. Grantees receive guidance through webinars, learning communities and one-on-one consultations throughout the grant period. The deadline for applications is April 10, 2018.
